KIP-750 — Drop support for Java 8 in Kafka 4.0 (deprecate in 3.0)
Accepted Kafka 3.0 Broker
Drops Java 8 support in Kafka 4.0 (deprecated in 3.0) and sets Java 11 as the minimum supported runtime. Supporting Java 8 alongside newer LTS releases imposes non-trivial CI cost, prevents use of modern JVM APIs, and requires testing across too many Java versions simultaneously.
