KIP-349 — Priorities for Source Topics
Discussion Streams
KIP-349 proposes a priority mechanism for Kafka consumers subscribed to multiple topics, allowing consumers to drain high-priority topics before processing low-priority ones. The existing consumer fetches from all subscribed partitions uniformly with no way to express that records on certain topics should be processed first.
