KIP-18 — JBOD Support
Discarded Broker
Proposes JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks) support by catching disk-level I/O errors and deactivating the affected disk rather than crashing the entire broker. Without fault isolation at the disk level, any disk I/O error in `log.dirs` crashes the whole broker process, making JBOD deployments (preferred for throughput over RAID) unreliable.
